It’s ok to look ridiculous

Sometimes it’s ok to look ridiculous, as long as it makes you happy…. I painted her and decided to put a big rose on her head. Struggled with it for a while because i thought she looked kinda ridiculous. Finally decided to just let her be. She is happy to have the rose on her head. That’s what matters. Even if it looks ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣

Be Still

Some days the insanity around me seem unbearable. All this talk about more guns to stop gun violence. ?!! I can’t even…. sometimes you just need to BE STILL. Even if just for a moment. Soaking in the calmness of the blue and green ink splotches…

I have been playing with dylusions ink lately. Losing myself in the unpredictable nature of the splotches. But what do you do with a page of ink splotches? I guess you add your favorite thing on it… in my case, a face and some words.

This was how it began.

I drew a face in…

And viola…

I love my inky fingers

Being a painter, I am very used to having inky fingers or paint on my arms or hands. Sometimes I don’t even notice it. Like today when I was playing with some ink and my fingers were all stained with the ink. It was not until my friends asked me about it that I noticed they were blue. I love playing with ink. It is free play, love seeing it interact with water, creating abstract art. Could be anything you imagine it to be. Good for the soul.

Can’t stop playing with ink!

Be You

Celebrating the first day of lunar new year with some playful colorful fun. And a reminder to stay true to who you are. Happy lunar new year💃💃💃

There is still love…

On this Valentine’s Day, we are faced with yet another school shooting in the USA. It breaks my heart to think of all the parents who lost their kid today. I am so sick of this. It’s days like this that make me feel hopelessly helpless. It’s a horrible feeling. Like I am playing Russian roulette with my kids lives. On the other hand, I am given one of the sweetest gifts from my husband. He took one of my art technique boards, and created a Valentine’s card for me using all my stickers. Reminding me there is love in my life. Be thankful for what i have. Thank you, my dear “reluctant” artist ❤️❤️❤️ sending love to those who need it tonight 😘😘😘

Don’t feed the bad wolf

I believe that nobody’s perfect. We all have a good side and a bad one. Heard this story about the 2 wolves. One good one bad. Which one will win? The one you feed. Good reminder for me.

Saw a photo on Pinterest of a wolf and a face. Inspired to paint this. Was an interesting exercise.

So be careful which wolf you feed…

What’s done in love is well done

“Vincent writes to Theo: It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done!”

So true. Happy with how this piece turned out. Just wanted to play. Decided to spray some dylusions ink which I have neglected for a while. Then sprinkled with water and amused myself with the ink blotches created when ink meets water. Added some modeling paste with a stencil and can’t resist adding a face. Viola. Glad i did not overwork this. This is good. Stop.🤣

FYI. This was how it started. I debated if I should stop here or keep going. Glad I kept going. But now it’s time to stop.

Happy birthday son

A simple mixed media birthday card for my little boy who, in a blink of an eye, became a strapping young man. I am so proud of him and will miss him so much when he goes off to college later this year.. trying not to think of it or I will start crying. Happy birthday my son.

Gratitude is peace

Doodling away in my altered book on a rainy Sunday pm. Simple pleasures in life. Love how thick and yummy my book is becoming. Filled with my doodles, play, inner thoughts and dreams.
