In anticipation of tonight’s episode of Downton Abbey, here is a painting of lady Mary and one of her quotes. I am not sure this is the exact likeness, but her expression is familiar to me:) To be honest, I do not find her to be beautiful. She seldom smile, is self centered and frowns quite a bit. But there is something about her that I find attractive. I admire her guts, her self confidence. It is remarkable  especially during that time period. This is one of my favorite quote of hers. There are many more. Given this is the last season of downtown abbey, I can’t help but obsess over the show. Who will i paint next? Dowager Countess of Grantham? Her quotes are priceless! Though she is not easy to paint… Any suggestions?
